“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
This is a highly technical form of dance with it's own vocabulary
primarily performed with the accompaniment of classical music.
Refers to a wide range of street dance styles primarily danced to hip hop music.
Is a more relaxed, free style of dance emphasizing the whole body which includes flexibility, strength and co-ordination allowing for
more expressive movement.
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context.
The Turning Point Studios have been home to many dancers who have progressed to great heights in their chosen dancing careers, either in the professional sphere, or as teachers.
Why Dance?
How dancing can help your child grow...
Children who dance have increased self-esteem, co-ordination, balance, memory, flexibility, strength, stamina and poise.
Dancing is not only fun, but educational too. Research has concluded that dancing is an excellent form of therapy for children with ADD, spatial awareness problems and weak gross motor skills. It is highly recommended for children born with low muscle tone.
In addition to positive self-esteem, dance can reinforce a sense of pride. Grace and poise are two physical benefits of dance, in addition to providing an intense and fun form of exercise. There is also a great deal of discipline involved with dancing. The longer a child dances, the more respect for others and themselves they will have.
Introducing your child to dance is one of the greatest gifts you can give them.
Classes offered from ages 3 - adult.
